Heading off: Zahara and Shiloh will be spending Christmas overseas, along with their four siblings

As soon as they seem settled in one place Angelina Jolie's rootless family seem to pack up and move on.

And while it might be Christmas, the actress has no plans to change that.

Angelina has revealed that she and partner Brad Pitt are taking their six children away for a far-flung Christmas adventure.

We're going to travel with the kids and go to a random part of the world,' she said.
'We're going to travel and have an adventure because that's what we love to do.'

But The Tourist star stopped short of saying exactly where her family plans to celebrate the festive season when she called into On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Friday morning.

Asked whether she's kept on top of her Christmas shopping, she said: 'I have, and I've got it all boxed and ready to go.

Rootless: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Madrid last week; the couple are taking their six children to a mystery location for Christmas

I'm trying to get every stocking right and all the wrapping paper and everything.'
Jolie, 35, also revealed how she and legendary actor Johnny Depp had never met prior to filming new thriller The Tourist, which has received three Golden Globe nods despite being slammed by critics.

'We're both home bodies as it turns out, we actually live near to each other in France but have never run into each other,' she said.

'Brad and Johnny had worked together years ago, and he said "he's a nice guy and you'll like him" and I've always liked his films.

'So I kind of expected to like him and hoped he was as cool and as interesting as you imagine him to be and we met in his office and he was.

'He walked in and he was one of those very nice, very cool people that puts everyone at ease.

'We started talking about kids for about an hour and the school system.'

Babe on a bike: Paris Hilton perfects her pose as she launches her own motorcycle racing team in Madrid today

High heels and short skirts are Paris Hilton's usual outfit of choice.

But it seems she has undergone a transformation - into a biker chick.

Of course, this being Paris, her leathers are bright pink, and she posed with her bike rather than riding it.

The 29-year-old heiress wore the unusual outfit to launch yet another venture, her own motorcycle racing team.

Not your typical biker girl: Paris shows off her cleavage as she poses

The racy suit flaunted some ample cleavage which Paris seemed particularly pleased with, leaning forward to give the cameras a better view.

Pouting and straddling astride her very own customized two-wheeled vehicle, Paris outdid herself when it came to the over-the-top self-promotion.

The socialite flew into the Spanish city of Madrid yesterday to attend the special launch.

Hard at work: Paris put in some pouting overtime to promote the new racing team

Ecstatic: Paris was 'thrilled' to be astride her customized motorcycle

Paris announced at a press conference that she has started her own team called SuperMartxe VIP by Paris Hilton.

The 29-year-old will scout for drivers in partnership with a Barcelona-based team, By Queroseno Racing (BQR).

The team will then compete in the 2011 125cc MotoGP World Championship season.

Un-Happy Birthday: Katie Holmes looks sad and downcast as she arrives at her New York apartment on her 32nd birthday

It may have been her birthday, but Katie Holmes didn't look in the mood to celebrate.
In fact the 32 year-old appeared desperately unhappy as she arrived at her New York apartment today.

Dressed in a dour black coat, her hair loose and wavy, Katie looked down at the floor.

Her husband Tom Cruise accompanied her, carrying their four-year-old daughter Suri.
He didn't look much happier, setting his mouth in a grim expression as he went inside.

But while Katie may not have felt like celebrating, her big day hadn't been forgotten, with deliveries of flowers arriving for the birthday girl.

Hardly happy: Katie looks miserable on her birthday

The previous night it was a happier story as the family attended a seasonal performance of The Nutcracker, at the New York City Ballet.

Cruise had flown in from Vancouver, where he is filming Mission Impossible 4, to be with his family.

Suri, who wore pink Uggs and a violet dress, even got to meet the dancers after the show, with her mother helping make introductions.

Family day: Katie's husband Tom Cruise flew in for the occasion, seen carrying daughter Suri, four, inside

While Cruise is away in Vancouver, Katie has also been working hard.

The actress has been filming Jack And Jill in Los Angeles, although she and daughter Suri keep New York as their main home.

The pair were spotted on set at The Grove last week, with Suri dressed in a fetching pair of pyjamas.

It's just a few flakes: Corrie's Shobna Gulati, who plays Sunita Alahan, and Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Barlow, smile for the cameras as they're engulfed in snow on the way into the soap's Christmas party

Living in the north of England, they have been used to freezing cold winters much more than their southern neighbours.

So while the rest of the nation shivered and went into a complete standstill this weekend as the snow engulfed the country, the cast members of Coronation Street and Hollyoaks weren't going to stop a few flakes ruining their fun.

Fresh from celebrating their 50th anniversary last week, the Corrie cast had their Christmas party in Manchester last night.

And many of the cast members were engulfed in a sudden snow blizzard as they arrived at the city's Circle Club.

Some of them winched against the falling flakes and bitterly cold wind as they dashed inside, including Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Barlow and Craig Gazey, who stars as Graeme Proctor.

Festive fun: While Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw, strolled nonchalantly through the snow, Craig Gazey, who plays Graeme Proctor, winched and braced himself against it

Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally Webster, couldn't help but laugh as she and a friend ran inside holding a faux fur coat over their heads.

But most of them seemed to shrug it off as got into the festive spirit and embraced the Christmassy weather.

Dashing through the snow: Sally Dynevor who plays Sally Webster runs inside the party with her friend who uses her coat to cover them

Snow in your eye, Chesney? Sam Aston, who plays the mild-mannered teen, poses with on-screen sister Fiz Stape, played by Jennie McAlpine, who are followed into the bash by Paula Turner, who plays Kylie Turner and Holly Quin-Ankrah, who plays Cheryl Gray

Their high spirits could also be their triumph at a very successful anniversary of the soap which included a live show during which chaos and carnage came to the cobbles after a gas explosion caused a tram to derail and crash on the Street, bringing death and destruction.

At least the majority of the Corrie cast were wrapped up against the wintry weather, which is more than can be said about their Cheshire rivals.

You'll catch your death, love! Claire Cooper, who plays Jacqui McQueen in Hollyoaks, arrives for the soap's Christmas do in Liverpool in very little, despite the freezing weather

Up in Liverpool, the young cast of Hollyoaks turned out in the freezing cold temperatures to attend their bash at the Portico bar at the city's Albert Dock.

And although the snow had eased off most of them had forgotten their overcoats while some of the girls arrived in short skirts, bare legs and strappy shoes.

Claire Cooper, who plays Jacqui McQueen, was the biggest culprit as she stopped outside to smile for the cameras, wearing a short sparkly skirt, a chiffon top and jacket and thong-style shoes.

Here come the girls: But Alice Barlow, who plays Rae Wilson, Bianca Hendrickse-Spendlove, who plays Texas Longford, and Jessica Forrest, who plays Leanne Holiday, look eager to get into the warm

Boys are back in town: Kieron Richardson, who plays Ste Hay, and Emmett J Scanlan, who stars as Brendan Brady, look ready to party

Winner: Kara Tointon and dance partner Artem Chigvintsev were tonight voted the winners of Strictly Come Dancing 2010

After winning the trophy, Kara said: 'It's the most special thing that I have ever achieved and thank you to this man, who has been absolutely wonderful. I'm a bit embarrassed but I've made the most fantastic friends for life.

Artem added: 'Thank you Kara, you're amazing.'

Despite falling at the final hurdle, finalist Matt said he was thrilled with the result, saying: 'It's been graet. I have absolutely thoroughly enjoyed tonight, and Kara and Artem are worthy winners. If I was at home, I would be voting for Kara as well.'

And as well as winning the Strictly glitterball trophy, Kara also walked away with another prize - in the form of a date with Artem.

The pair have been rumoured to have been dating throughout the competition, but tonight furthered speculation after appearing more than a little touchy-feely on the programme.

Kara Tointon was voted the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2010 tonight, despite battling a wrist injury.

Victory: Kara and Artem are congratulated by former contestants including Scott Maslen as they hold their trophy high

The 27-year-old former soap star and her partner Artem Chigvintsev wowed the judges with four incredible performances, including the American Smooth and their energetic show dance.

When she found out she and Artem had won, the former EastEnders star burst into tears before hugging Matt Baker and Aliona Vilani.

Celebration: Goldie holds Artem over his head as the Russian-born dancer celebrates his win

Stunning: Pamela Stephenson was the first to be voted off the show this evening

Speaking about being paired with Artem, Kara struggled to control her emotions and tears as she described her relationship with the Russian-born dancer.

And, in a VT ahead of their final performance, Kara said: 'I have made a friend for life and it has been a magical experience.'

While Artem added: 'When she's laughing, I find it adorable and irresistible.'
Kara's win was all the more impressive considering she had been battling a wrist injury following a back flip during her show dance.

The actress was seen backstage after the performance struggling not to cry while holding an ice pack to the wrist, telling the camera: 'I haven't done a back flip since I was about 11 and it really hurts now.'

Pamela Stephenson was the first contestant to be voted off the final tonight.

Ready to go: Kara wore a tight, low-cut jumpsuit as she and Artem performed to I Like The Way You Move

And Len, who also gave them a nine, said: 'What you've done, a little element of waltz, salsa and foxtrot - you've used all the skills you've learned and I thought it was charming. Well done.'

After the performance, Pamela said: 'It really has been the time of my life and I'm so appreciative to the women and men who have helped me get to where I am.'

And James cheekily added: 'Nobody puts Granny in the corner!'

Tonight's finale was opened by an energetic performance from the Strictly Come Dancing professionals, who danced to Eye Of The Tiger, with the girls sporting boards featuring the names of the three finalists.

Kara and Artem, Pamela and James, and Matt and Aliona were then welcomed to the dancefloor wearing boxing gowns and gloves ahead of the competition.

Head judge Len Goodman also kept the boxing analogy going as he introduced the show with a microphone hanging from the ceiling.

Presenter Tess Daly looked stunning in a full-length white gown with a sparkly silver asymmetric top, while Bruce Forsyth wore a black tuxedo with white waistcoat.

Gymnastic genius: Matt Baker used his gymnastic skills for the show dance

The first show of the evening saw the three finalists bring back their top-scoring dances, as well as unleashing their final show dance.

Up first were Matt and Aliona, who performed the Samba to Young Hearts Run Free , complete with a lot of hip movement and even some back flips from Matt, which earned him a series of cheers and applause from the audience.

Speaking about being in the final, Matt said: 'It's just such a special feeling to know that you're there - last weekend was such an emotional weekend.

'Initially I thought Strictly would be quite fluffy - a bit of glitter here and there, could it be that intense? But believe me, it can - it's just you, your partner and the floor.'

'Simply brilliant': Pamela and James received a standing ovation from the audience, which included Pamela's husband Billy Connolly

And as well as his natural dancing talent, it is Matt's chemistry with dance partner Aliona which has seen him get through to the final.

Describing their chemistry, Matt said: 'Aliona and I realised very quickly that we have a very similar outlook - she will dance what I'm feeling.'

Aliona added: 'I have actually been on a real, real journey - it's been a blast.'
Before taking to the dancefloor, Matt said: 'To be the last man standing is brilliant - to be the last one standing would be phenomenal.'

It was then time for the judges to pass their judgement on the performance.

All white on the night: Pamela and James stand with Tess as they await the judges' results

Len was first up, giving the couple a 9 and saying: 'We are expecting you to dance to the standard that has got you to this final, and that's what you did Matt. You came out, full on, and did so well - well done.'

Alesha Dixon, who awarded Matt and Aliona a 10, said: 'The last time we saw this dance was in Blackpool and you've done it again. I think it's the perfect way to open the show and I think it's the best samba of the series.'

Ever-amusing Bruno Tonioli, who also gave them a 10, said: 'There's nothing better than a hot Latin samba to cheer up everyone in a cold snap. You're samba was even better this time.'

And Craig Revel-Horwood, who gave them a 9, said: 'All good, I'm afraid. It was more confident than last time, I thought it was fantastic. That hip action is torrid, darling, it works very very well!'

Talking to Tess after the performance, Matt said: 'We wanted it to be a real celebration of everything we've done, and it feels brilliant to go out there and just dance - I'm so happy.'

Emotional: Kara struggled to control her tears as she spoke about her experience on Strictly before taking to the dancefloor to perform the Rumba

Kara and Artem were up next, performing the Rumba to an instrumental number.
Before taking to the dancefloor, Kara said she couldn't believe she had made it through to the final of Strictly.

She said: 'To have made it through to the final is one of the biggest achievements of my life. I don't think I'll ever forget when Artem slid towards to me on that first show. I had hoped to be with James or Anton, but I think he's forgiven me.

'It took me a few weeks to come out and let go. The first dance I did well with was the Paso Doble. In Blackpool the emotions were running high, I'd injured my partner, and then we did the best performance we've done in the whole show.'

On-screen chemistry: Matt and Aliona get on incredibly well, which is partly the reason they dance so well together

Eager to win: Matt and Aliona stand with Bruce Forsyth as they await the results from judges (left to right) Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli

Making a big return: All the Strictly finalists returned for a last performance to the soundtrack of Paloma Faith

After their dance, Craig said: 'I would kill to be able to dance like that. I thought it was amazing. I thought you were adorable', and gave them his first 10.

Len, who caused controversy with a seven, said: 'What's great about number is that it's so lyrical and musical. Unfortunately, you're supposed to do a certain amount in hold. But it's still a great number and I think your dancing is brilliant.'

Alesha, who gave them a 10, said: 'I'm quite sad that that's the last dance we will see you guys do. I think you are the most exquisite dancer I have seen on Strictly and together you are first class.'

And Bruno, who also gave them a 10, said: 'Whatever happens, this was an inspired performance. Creatively it was superb.'

After the performance, Kara said: 'That dance has always been my favourite so we just wanted to do it again.

Beating the blizzard: A man makes his way through snow storm in Epsom

Gatwick, Heathrow, Birmingham and Southampton airport closed

AA attends 1,200 breakdowns every hour

Up to 20cm expected in parts of the UK

Hundreds of drivers trapped on M6 overnight

Backlog of up to 4m parcels could remain undelivered

Urgent appeal for blood donors after concerns of shortages

Grit to be shared amid fears of cold snap until January 14

Millions of Britons were facing travel chaos today as snow and ice left motorways and airports closed and train services disrupted.

Gatwick Airport has cancelled all flights until 3pm today, with further problems in Ireland, Scotland and Wales. British Airways cancelled all their flights out of Heathrow.

Overnight blizzards and plummeting temperatures buckled a huge chunk of the country's road, air and rail networks on the busiest weekend for travel and shopping before Christmas.

British Airways has cancelled all flights to and from London Heathrow today

Mr Derbyshire, who was forced to complete the last two hours of his journey on foot, told BBC Radio Five Live: 'It is absolute mayhem.'

The M61 northbound in Greater Manchester was also closed between junctions 6 and 8 due to an accident.

Some commuters took the drastic step of abandoning their cars overnight but this hindered the efforts of gritters who were battling to keep the road networks moving.

Severe weather warnings of heavy snow and widespread icy roads are in place in London and the South East, the South West, the Midlands, the North West and Yorkshire and Humber.

The M6 ground to a halt after snow caused a lorry to jack-knife. Many spent the night on in their vehicles

Wales, northern Scotland and Northern Ireland - which had experienced its heaviest snow for 25 years - were also issued with severe warnings.

Forecasters have predicted that it could be the coldest December on record, with a current average temperature of minus 0.7. That sits at five degrees below the long-term average.

Shut down: British Airways planes are grounded out of Heathrow Airport until 5pm

Up to 15cm of snow is expected to hit London today while weathermen suggested around 20cm could fall in parts of North Wales, the Midlands and south east England.

Lindsay Dovey, a forecaster with MeteoGroup, the weather division of the Press Association, said temperatures dropped to minus 15.5C in Aviemore, Scotland, this morning.

'There has been a band of snow that is stretching from North Wales right across to the far south east of England, pivoting northwards over London.

'It is going to be around for a while, probably for most of the day, but will hopefully die out tonight when conditions are going to improve.'

Departure boards at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 tell a tale of misery for travellers hoping to get away

The mercury could plunge to minus 20C in parts of Scotland, she said.
Travel misery also hit the airports. A Heathrow Airport spokesman said: 'Severe disruption is expected today at all London airports.'

Passengers were advised not to go to the airport unless they had a confirmed booking on a new flight.

British Airways has cancelled all flights out of Heathrow despite the runways remaining open.

A spokeswoman for the airline said: 'The weather at Heathrow now is quite appalling.

Snow has caused heavy disruption at Heathrow which has closed while runways are cleared

'We knew that severe weather conditions were expected, so rather than asking passengers to travel just to have their flight cancelled, we think it's better to tell all our customers that flights are cancelled.

'We need to give our customers some certainty. We would rather they sat at home with all the information needed to rebook their flights rather than sat on the floor on an airport not able to fly or get home.'

Festive shoppers brave the snow in central London, on the final Saturday before Christmas

Belfast City Airport was closed last night while Belfast International Airport resumed flights overnight but said delays and cancellations were expected today.

'Severe weather across the UK may still cause travel problems so if you are due to travel please check with your airline before leaving for the airport for the updated status of your flight.'

Flights from Exeter, London City, Aberdeen and Cardiff were also disrupted.

Covered up: Lady Gaga looked unusually demure as she wrapped up in a head-to-toe dress as she left her London hotel yesterday

Her on-stage costumes and her out-and-about clothes are nothing more than outrageous and revealing and leave very little to the imagination.

So it came as a surprise to see Lady Gaga covered up from head-to-toe as she left her London hotel last night.

The singer was snapped in a long silk dress that completely engulfed her from her chin to her feet as she made her way to the city's O2 Arena.

With a black leather jacket over it and black gloves, she was wrapped up well against the sub-zero temperatures that hit the capital last night.

She accessorised the dress with a gold chain belt that flattered her tiny frame and pulled in her waist and wore big black sunglasses, despite the dark evening.

But before fans started to think the Alejandro star was going in a new fashion direction, one look at the floor was enough to convince them otherwise.

Pop star princess: Gaga kept her celebrity status intact as she covered her eyes in sunglasses, despite the dark evening

The 24-year-old wore her trademark towering platform boots under the dress, which she hitched up to walk down to her car.

So no need to call Madama Tussauds and get her eight waxworks, which were unveiled around the world last week, changed just yet.

She was en route to play her last UK date of her 18-month-long, 201-date tour worldwide Monster Ball tour.
