Time to say goodbye: Elen Rivas and Craig Machlalan were voted off Dancing On Ice after the skate-off

Elen Rivas and Craig Machlalan were voted off Dancing On Ice tonight, failing to even get through to the real competition which begins next week.

In a brutal cut which saw only six of eight celebrities competing to make it through, the public voted for former WAG Elen and partner Lukasz Rozycki and ex Neighbours star Craig, as well as partner Maria Filippov, to leave the competition.

A clearly upset Elen said she had enjoyed the process 'very much', while Craig added: 'I've had the best time with this bunch and this woman, Maria, is my absolute treasure.'

Tense: Craig, Jennifer and Elen wait to hear who has been voted off the show

Following a tense skate-off, Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe and her partner Sylvain Longchambon narrowly made it through to the next show after receiving the most votes from the public.

Also through is 'Comedy' Dave Vitty and partner Frankie, Sam Attwater and Brianne Delcourt, Dominic Cork and Alexandra Schauman, Chloe Madeley and Michael Zenezini and Denise Welch and Matt Evers.

Discussing the couples in the skate-off, Jane Torvill said: 'We're very surprised. Jennifer is a great skater, she had a little slip but other than that she's got a lot going for her.'

We're safe! Jennifer Metcalfe and partner Sylvain Longchambon find out they are safe for another week

Craig and Maria were first up, with the Australian actor saying before taking to the ice: 'Now that I've come this far I would love the opportunity to push myself further.'

After the performance, Craig said: 'It was good. Interestingly enough, once you get the first one out of the way, it's amazing how much more settled you are the second time around.

'I know it's not perfect to be in the bottom three but it's certainly an experience.'

It's been fun: The voted off celebrities reminisce about their time on the ITV programme

Jennifer and Sylvain were second to perform, with Jennifer saying before the skate: 'Me and Sylvain have grown so close. He's a good coach, he doesn't tell me off too much, he's perfect for me. He's put so much time and effort into it and I don't want to go yet.

'To go out before the competition starts is definitely unthinkable - I just want to stay in. I feel like I've found where I should be and that's on the ice.'

Afterwards, talking to Phillip, Jennifer said: 'I loved every minute of that. I enjoyed it and I liked the lift too. I'm much happier with that performance.'

Opening the show: Hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby dressed for the occasion in stunning evening wear

And finally, it was the turn of Elen and Lukasz to skate.
Beforehand, Elen said: 'This experience is amazing, I'm learning a new skill and Lukasz is amazing. I don't want to be leaving this week. If I do well in this competition, my little girls will be so proud of their mummy.

'If I go out now I'll be totally devastated - I think I'll cry.'
Following the performance, Elen said: 'I think it went very well. But I'm gutted though, I'm really sad to be here.'

First up: Former Neighbours star Craig Machlalan and skating partner Maria Filippov were first to take to the ice

In the first show of the evening, the remaining eight celebrities battled for the final six places in Dancing On Ice.

And, with the outcome of the show solely dependent on viewers' votes, with the judges having no sway over who stays and who goes, there was everything to skate for.

Before the contestants took to the ice, mentor Christopher Dean said: 'I think they're all really excited to get out there now.'

Green goddess: Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe was up next, performing with partner Sylvain Longchambon

While Jane Torvill added: 'I can feel the tension tonight because our skaters tonight know that one of our strongest skaters, Laura Hamilton, was in the skate-off last week.'

First up to perform was former Neighbours star Craig McLachlan, who danced with Maria Filippov.

However, Craig struggled to get to grips with the difficult routine, before he had to fly back to Australia for work commitments.

His skating partner Maria then had to fly Down Under to teach Craig the routine, but complained: 'It's a super crash course, I've never done this with anyone else before!'

Pretty in pink: Elen Rivas performed with dance partner Lukasz Rozycki, and tried to keep the smile on her face

Before starting the routine to the Rolling Stones' Sympathy For The Devil, Craig said: 'I'm in Aussie - in the winter the pond out the back doesn't freeze over! But I've got blades of glory - they'll call me Blade McLachlan.'

But later, Craig admitted he was feeling nervous, adding: 'I just want to do it justice - I don't want to let Chris and Jane down.'

After a relatively successful dance with just a few mistakes, it was time for the judges to pass their judgements.

Stunned: But Elen was less than impressed with the scores she received from the judges

But the judges weren't too impressed, giving Craig nine out of 30.

Robin Windsor said: 'We know you haven't had the time to put in yet and it sort of shows. But I think you have the chance and you've got a big fan base so if you come back you'll have to give it your all.'

While Emma Bunton added: 'I think you've got so much more to give. I want you to feel less inhibited though.'

Feeling blue? Dominic Cork had been nervous about dropping partner Alexandra Schauman before the show

And, ever-caustic Jason Gardiner rounded off the comments by telling Craig: 'The costume covered a multitude of sins for me tonight.

'There were moments from the waist down you moved quite gingerly - it sort of looked like you were wearing a soiled nappy. You need to bring the showman onto the ice.'

However, undeterred Craig said: 'I don't think I'm ready for Olympic selection just yet!' Maria added: 'He did really well. He was really nervous going out first but really well done.'

Hopeful: This week's celebrity contestants line-up for the cameras after their performances

And mentor Christopher said: 'I think there is much more potential to come'.

Next up was Jennifer Metcalfe, who shone in a revealing and sparkly green outfit as she took to the ice with partner Sylvain to perform the routine to Madonna's Crazy For You.

As she was shown getting ready for the difficult routine, Jennifer said: 'I'm really excited but just nervous, I don't know what to expect. I'd like my dance partner to be strong and muscly so I feel safe in their arms.'

And after meeting French charmer Sylvain, Jennifer said: 'Is he straight and single?'

Botox free? Nicole last week, left, and in 2009, right: 'I've tried a lot of things, but apart from working out and a good diet, most things don’t help,' the miraculously line-free Miss Kidman told a German magazine interviewer last week. 'I even tried Botox, but I didn't like how my face looked afterwards. Now I don't use it any more — and I can move my forehead again.' Really?

After years of claiming her perfect, wrinkle-free features were totally natural, Nicole Kidman finally admitted last week that she has tried Botox in the past.

However, the 43-year-old actress swears she no longer uses it because she didn’t like the results.

And she wasn’t the only one who thought this. In 2008, one cosmetic surgery expert told a medical conference that the Oscar-winner was so ‘over-Botoxed’ she was giving the industry a bad name.

Nicole is the latest in a long line of stars who swear blind that they’ve said bye bye to Botox, but can we really believe them?

Look at the pictures and decide for yourself...

Can you tell how old she is? Jennifer in 2009, left, and 2010, right: In 2009, the fresh-faced rom-com star claimed: 'I tried Botox once and it was not good. It makes women look older. Harder. The warmth in their faces goes away . . . You see women and you know they're not young, but you can't tell how old they are.' So who would have thought she's 41?

Wrinkle free: Cindy in 2008, left, and 2010, right: The still super-looking model, 44, told Ladies' Home Journal last July: 'I've tried Botox, but it scares me. Plastic surgery is scary, but as long as you don't use these things to change your face, I think it's OK.' But did she find wrinkles even scarier than the injections?

Given up? Dannii in 2008, left, and 2010, right: The 39-year-old X Factor judge claims to have stopped having Botox. 'I see the comments. "Plastic", "All Botox",' she said. 'I see what people see, but I have to say that while I have been open about doing it before, I'm not doing it now.' We're raising our eyebrows, Dannii — can you?

Mum's the word: Amanda in 2009, left, and this year, right: The 39-year-old actress, who is six months pregnant, claims she lets nature take its course. 'I haven’t had Botox for eight or nine months. It puts me off when I see people in LA. Everyone looks the same and it's quite grotesque.' But will she stick to her vow post-pregnancy?

See any lines? Kylie in 2009, left, and 2010, right: There has been speculation for years about the upward trajectory of Kylie's brows and her increasingly waxen skin. But in May 2010, the singer (now 42) said: 'I did use Botox, but I don't any more. I won't go near it. I have lines. You can see the lines on my face.' Um, no we can't...

Used to love Botox: Lulu in March 2010, left, and November 2010, right: In March 2008, the singer (who is now 62) said: 'I used to have Botox and I thought it was fantastic at first. But it quickly fades. Too much of it makes your face immovable and it doesn't actually help you to look young. So I stopped.' Or did she?

Time to say goodbye: Mezhgan Hussainy watches as fiancé Simon Cowell kisses his ex-girlfriend Jackie St Clair after dinner at Cipriani's in London

He's constantly surrounded by a bevvy of beautiful women, most of which are ex-girlfriends from his romantic past.

But now Simon Cowell is engaged, one would think he would leave the past behind him and concentrate on the future with fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy.

However, last night Cowell decided to merge his two worlds together when he pulled in ex Jackie St Clair for a tender kiss, while Mezhgan looked on.

Clinch: Cowell pulled in Jackie for a kiss on the cheek after their meal

The 51-year-old music mogul embraced Jackie outside London's Cipriani's restaurant following a meal with hypnotist Paul McKenna.

And it seems make-up artist Mezhgan, who met Cowell when they worked together on American Idol, has grown used to her fiancé's lifestyle, as she didn't appear too concerned as she watched the clinch.

While Cowell and Jackie split years ago, they have remained friends and are often seen out on the town together.

Date night: Cowell and Mezhgan looked in good spirits as they left the eatery

In addition, Jackie even joined Cowell and Mezhgan on holiday in the Caribbean, along with another of Cowell's ex-girlfriends Sinitta, last month.

It seems, though, as if Mezhgan and Jackie get on well, as they were photographed laughing and joking while leaving the restaurant last night.

Cowell announced his engagement on Valentine's Day last year, but the pair have still to set a date for their big day.

Friend or foe? Jackie and Mezhgan cuddled up for photographers outside the restaurant

But despite reports the wedding might have been called off, including Cowell's X Factor pal Louis Walsh saying it's unlikely the mogul will 'ever' tie the knot, Mezhgan recently insisted the pair are still engaged.

She said: 'I still love him. He says he loves me and we are still engaged as far as I know.'

Heading home: Mezhgan sat with dinner guest Paul McKenna in the front of the car while Cowell and Jackie sat in the back

Mezhgan added: 'I don’t know where these stories are coming from. It’s as if when you’re engaged you can’t spend a moment apart or ¬people think you’ve broken up.

‘That’s nonsense. We are still in love and still planning on getting married.'

Ice maiden: Dancing On Ice star Elen Rivas got her skates on and her kit off in her latest photoshoot

Elen Rivas has been showing just what new boyfriend Peter Andre sees in her - and what ex Frank Lampard is missing - in these racy new pictures.

The 36-year-old saucy Spaniard donned sequin bra and pants - accessorised with a pair of ice skates - to put the figure back in figure skating.

Lampard's former fiancée and mother of his two children will be hoping that it helps the public warm to her as she makes her debut on the Dancing On Ice rink tonight.

Pete and Elen - who share the same management company Can Associates - revealed earlier this month that they've been dating since November but that things have already become serious between them.

Getting serious: They have only been dating for a couple of months but Elen and Peter have already introduced their children to one another

Peter, 37, is said to have already introduced her to his children, five-year-old Junior and three-year-old Princess, in a move that infuriated his ex-wife Katie Price.

In turn, Elen's children with Frank, Luna, five, Isla, three, have also met Pete and they all spent time together over Christmas.

A source said: ‘The children met each other over Christmas and get on well. But Elen and Peter want to wait before they see them even holding hands.’

However, Elen revealed yesterday that she thought that initally, she thought Pete was not her type because he was too 'girly'.

New introductions: Peter's children Junior and Princess have allegedly enjoyed play dates with Elen's children

She said: 'I never thought Peter would be my type because he appears too effeminate.
'I've always gone for the tall, masculine, tough-looking type, whereas Peter waxes his eyebrows.'

Model Elen has said of her new man: ‘I’m very happy at the moment. I have a permanent smile on my face at the moment.’

Play date: Elen's daughters Luna (left), five, and three-year-old Isla (right) have met Peter Andre's children

Popstar Peter meanwhile has told friends: 'She is so classy and beautiful, just the change I needed after everything that has happened in the last two years.'

He and Katie split in May 2009 with Elen splitting from England and Chelsea star Frank in November 2008.

Now you see it: A red-headed Khloe Kardashian arrives at the 16th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards; she has since gone back to brunette

Khloe, a natural blonde as a child, wasn't happy.
'I HATE being told what to do.... So not happy right now...,' she said.

Her newly red hair won Khloe Kardashian a string of compliments from admirers.

But the look was short lived, with the reality star announcing that she has been forced to dye her hair back to brown by the producers of her show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

She tweeted to her fans that she had been ordered to dye her hair back as E! wanted her to match her famously dark sisters.

Old look: Khloe with brown hair; she had dyed it back to this colour

Normally when you tell me not to touch the red button.... I'll go and push the red button.... In this case... I have no options.'

Khloe was first seen with red hair at the People's Choice awards last week, and was inundated with positive comments from her fans.

But the new look didn't last long.

'I had to dye my hair back to brown. I love being a brunette don't get me wrong but red was SOO much fun! I was only red for a like a week,' she wrote.

'The red was too short lived! I'll be a red head again But today I'm being a brat because I want my red hair back now.'

And her fans agreed with her. 'You guys are making me sadder... LOL most of you guys loved the red too! Soon I'll be red! Promise.'

But despite her annoyance she told fans she was not being 'controlled' by the channel.

'No not control... Just like us to look like sisters.'

Fans got a last chance to see 26-year-old Khloe's red-haired look at the Critics Choice last night.

Do blondes have more fun? Kate Beckinsale debuted her new blonde hair at Los Angeles' LAX Airport on Friday

She's famous for her enviably long, dark hair.

So it may come as a shock for Kate Beckinsale fans to see the 37-year-old actress sporting a new blonde 'do as she left Los Angeles' LAX Airport on Friday.

The British actress was almost unrecognisable with the summery new style, which left her looking more like a Hollywood starlet than ever.

Dramatic: It's the first time Kate has changed the colour of her brunette hair apart from in film roles

Kate teamed her new hair with a pretty green beaded maxi dress, mirrored aviator sunglasses and a cream woollen cardigan as she walked through the airport with daughter Lily and husband Len Wiseman.

However, it's not the first time Kate has tried out the blonde look, as she also sported lighter locks when she starred opposite Guy Pearce in 2008 movie Winged Creatures.

And while Kate looked happy enough with her new look, she will have to dye her hair back to it's dark colour when she starts shooting new movie Underworld 4: New Dawn in March.

Summer style: Kate wore a pretty green beaded maxi dress and cream cardigan as she made her way through the airport

She plays vampire warrior Selene in the film franchise, a role which requires her to take on a darker appearance with black hair and tight catsuit outfits.

And while Kate is regularly included in lists of the world's sexiest actresses, she recently admitted she struggled to accept her appearance when she was younger.

She said: 'I was an awkward child. I would not want to go out of the house unless I wore tartan tights, a stripy skirt and spotted T-shirt. I was a nightmare.

'I was quite fat as a small child. I suddenly had hips and I was about 4ft 11in at 14. Then I grew in height, massively. I am 5ft 7in now.'

Darker look: Kate will surely have to dye her hair back when she reprises her role as vampire warrior Selene in Underworld 4 later this year
