Spruced up: Justin Biber had obviously spruced himself up before his tour bus date with Selena Gomez, donning an all-red outfit and carrying a wash bag

At 16, it's clear Justin Bieber hasn't yet learnt to play it cool.
The young pop star made an undisguised effort to charm the special guest waiting on his tour bus last night.

Dressed in an all-red ensemble, a cap jauntily worn back to front, he even found time to visit the washroom to freshen up before his date with Selena Gomez.

And if that wasn't enough, he completed the look with a particularly impressive rosary around his neck, perhaps to convince the Disney star of his nice-boy status.

More than friends? At first sight Justin and Selena shared an intimate embrace

He wasn't the only one to make an effort.

Dressed in pair of jeans and a sheer blouse that exposed her midriff, Selena had obviously taken care with her outfit.

The Disney star paired her flirty look with a pair of grey slouchy boots and silver hoop earrings, and her tousled locks flowing freely around her shoulders.

Shielded by a burly bodyguard, at first sight Selena and Justin warmly embraced, before the 16-year-old singing sensation gently patted her on the back and escorted her to the back of the bus.

Tender moment: Justin then escorted 16-year-old Selena inside the bus with a gentle pat on the back

It was there where the pop star appeared more relaxed with the Selena, removing his cap and engaging in what appeared to be an in-depth conversation.

Their latest encounter occurred after Selena attended Justin's sold-out concert at the American Airlines Arena in Miami on Saturday night.

The 18-year-old got the VIP treatment as she was escorted back to Justin's private tour bus.

Before she was escorted backstage, Selena was spotted in the audience cheering Justin on while he performed his hit songs.

Engaging: The pair were later seen having what appeared to be an in-depth conversation

Not just any groupie: Selena Gomez climbed onto Justin Bieber's tour bus backstage after his sell-out concert in Miami over the weekend

Despite their obvious delight in one another's company, the pair are trying to end relationship rumours, denying any romance.

The two teens have both denied any romantic involvement after being spotted several time together in the last few weeks.

They enjoyed pancakes at American chain restaurant, IHop pancake house in Philadelphia.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Selena denied any type of romance insisting that they two were more like brother and sister.

'It was pancakes! Oh my gosh! [Justin is] one of my best friends…' she mused.

'Who doesn't like pancakes? We were both performing in the same place so we went and had pancakes together. That's all it is. All innocent.'

Performer: Selena had earlier cheered Justin on as he performed onstage in Miami; also in the audience was Johnny Depp

Selena also explained her feelings for Justin, describing him as 'family'.

'I love Justin. When he first started to come over from Canada his manager contacted me and he just said that he would like to meet me and he was just such a good kid…' she said.

'I feel like a big sister now, because I want to protect him.'
