I'd kill for this!!! I hate osx msn messenger :(!

True, and if you wanna use your iSight for other than PhotoBooth, and have videochat over MSN, you will need something even worse called aMSN, found it in a MR guide...:p

Can Adium do videchat to MSN? (with audio! There's no audio on the videochat's in aMSN:mad: :p )

I would be happier if they announced the new model asap. and shipped asap. i need a new laptop now.

but... honestly, Apple needs to differentiate between macbook and macbook pro lines. so i bet the macbook update will merely be and update in speed to the higher speed versions of the chips they already have.

why? i just don't think Intel will be churning out the new merom chips fast enough to put them in all the Macbooks. and the mini's.

Also, isnt the Imac supposed to get the other version of the new Intel chip? you know... Core 2 Duo desktop (Conroe). cause They just came with a nice 64 bit chip. my bet is this chip will show up somewhere also. and it will be in the Imac and maybe even macmini.

Apple is probably going to spread out the chips they use, cause they won't be getting tons of each one in too much volume. and the desktop versions will offer better performance for the desktop models. ie imac and possibly the macmini.

Apple could do themselves a lot of favours if they came out with an offical statement, explaining what iOS does in regards of user tracking ( i.e, location database ). Some 1 line email response fired off by SJ doesn't do much good.

Once again, Apple fall down in terms of customer relations / communications. If Apple handled this correctly then all the fuss could go away in a couple days.

Yes, It's about time MacRumors puts rumors on the front page. This has been misguided as of late.

If apple is looking for a way to fend off android then this may be part of the strategy. Mac.com is what makes my iThings work. If it was not for the sync OTA, then I very well may have been on another phone by now. Can't tell you how many times that it has saved me ass.

I can buy an iPhone without contract and I don't live in Europe.

I wondered, when Apple announced it was switching to Intel, if it would affect the upgrade cycle. Intel releases new chips often and companies like Dell ship them almost immediately. Apple has historically waited a long time before updating a product; but are they now going to be forced to keep pace to remain competitive? I think they will have to now. I expect speed bumps to their products to happen more frequently. It wouldn't surprise me to see the MBP get the new Core 2 Duo chips next week. (even though I just bought one last week :( )

Yes and Bill Gates is expected to release Vista at the same conference. Seriously, all this happening (Mac Pros, iMac Core Duo, new iPod Nanos, iPhone, new MBPs, ect) in one conference is unlikley. Mac Pros are a given, thats all I'm saying (so I dont look stupid when it doesnt happen :p).

Right now it seems like we are just saying Maybe it will come out on X date! and every time we are wrong we move it to Y date and eventually we WILL get it right and say Z date but that would be after 3 months

You guys responded to Ravenvii saying that Traps and monsters don't harm the villain, but in the OP, in the Q&A's, you wrote:

    - can the villain/monster fall into the traps?

Villain (a stupid one): yes, Monsters: No (since they don't move).

Was that just being funny, or is it a conflicting rule?

    Thanks!

Oops. Fixed. (The first answer is correct; fixed the second answer).

Not according to the OP he didn't. In the example the hero had one AP and the monster had one AP. Solomon how did the hero win?

I'm not understanding, what example are you speaking of?

Also where the hell is this lair???

That's what you're supposed to find. Therein awaits the Artifact, and most likely the Villain.

That thinly-veiled threat was pathetic. If you're concerned about the lack of privacy on iOS then running off to Android really makes sense. Sigh.

Its does for the paranoid people, after all Apple is the new IBM big brother is watching you conspiracy. Where Google even though they are on the news a big about this, is the Unicorn in their dreams. :D

GL on getting people to start making ARM binaries for windows 8 which only runs on tablets who happen to be extremely unsuccessful. If Microsoft makes an ARM version of windows 8 for tablets only, then windows-based tablets will be even deader than they are already.

On a side note: All current ARM processers are designed for very compact and tight spaces where power efficiency is THE most important thing. Regular laptop/desktop CPUs are not, to the same extent anyway. ARM has yet to show us what it can deliver in that area, so who knows. We'll just have to wait and see.

Windows is making a version of Windows that works on ARM and the regular processors, so ALL the software works for it. They wont be separate versions.

Apple would only be hurting themselves if they waited until the Fall.

People are ready for a new iPhone. If it doesn't come out by June, some will lose patience and buy an iPhone 4, or worse, will be tempted by the false promises coming from every phone offering 4G service.

Didn't read all the posts, but you realize there will be one like this soon:

Apple already has the iphone 5 in their warehouses. After the botched ipad2 fiasco, they finally learned their lesson.

Once the hype machine starts they will again make the iphone 5 scarce, so people stand in line, just to get press coverage.

    Feel free to add:-)

He's saying Apple do not keep records of your location.

Why would they want to know where their customers are?

It's already been discovered Android phones keep a record of their movements in an identical way to iPhone.

(qoute above me). Let alone isn't it that Apple orders for such an amount of processors for such a price (discounted over market price), and then puts those in laptops. So what I mean it really doesn't matter if Yonah is reduced does it?

This seems unlikely. The PPC to Intel switch was a result of Apple not being impressed by both IBM and Motorola's lack of interest in continuing the advances in the PowerPC architecture. Intel's current architecture and future planned architectures are still of great interest to apple and consumers. There isn't enough motivation (unless some huge new breakthrough in ARM tech is in the works.)
The PPC-Intel transition was confusing for many consumers and a pain for developers. I don't think Apple is likely to put us through it again.

Most of my music files are at a moderate bitrate: a low estimate would be 5mb for a 5-minute song. An hour a day of mobile listening for a month means 60MB * 30 = 1.8GB. And if you have mp3s at 192kbps, you'd get only about 40 minutes a day for the same bandwidth.

So I really don't see how this can be more than an occasional, niche product with a 2GB/month mobile cap. Am I missing something?

Android has been shown (http://thenextweb.com/google/2011/04/21/its-not-just-the-iphone-android-stores-your-location-data-too/) to also gather location information, but the database is limited to a much smaller list of entries and is regularly wiped by the system. Jobs' email seems to explicitly claim, however, that Google's location information is used to track users while Apple's is not.

Umm, Android's on-phone database might be smaller, but the phone sends all your location data to Google several times an hour tied to a unique identifier, where I'm sure the database is unlimited. And even if you trust Google with that data, they've been hacked before.

The only way anyone gets your iPhone data is if they steal your phone and you don't do a remote wipe in time. Or if they steal your computer and you don't encrypt backups.

There's no way that Apple is gonna switch to ARM for their Mac lines when it already took them a decade to make the transition from IBM to Intel processors.

I thought the transition was noteworthy. Not quite flawless, but who else has switched architecture so perfectly?
