There is implied multiplication between the 2 and the (9+3) term, meaning the equation effectively looks like

48/2*(9+3)

This is quite obviously 288.

I agree too this is a stupid question, it's akin to asking someone verbally "what does 'their' mean?" because the choice of "their" vs "they're" is not clear.

If there was a space, such that it said

48/ 2*(9+3)

then I could see an argument for it being 2, but as it stands, there is no reason you should ever find this equation to be equal to 2.

Your context is incorrect. I was referring to the website that supposedly has a lot of information about you, not the location database.

I checked the store after I saw this. 17'' BTO ship in 5-7 business days, so that is the 25-27th. 15'' ship in 1-3. All stock models ship in 24 hours.

iOS uses services from a company called Skyhook to help with location tracking. they use GPS and wifi access points to pinpoint locations faster than GPS.

a lot of android phones used to use it as well but in 2.1 or 2.2 google made it very hard to use anything except google for location. this is why a lot of android phones have slow GPS or it doesn't work as well indoors.

if the data is sent to anyone it's probably to skyhook to improve their service. or maybe apple is doing something similar and building their own location database. do you really think that every time you use GPS it really sends a signal to outer space?

Personally, I'm disappointed that a respected organisation with expertise in security (Sophos) has not taken care to have their product work reliably, for all users, with a key security feature (FileVault) of an operating system. It may be that only a handful of users are affected, but deadlocks and forced shutdowns are never acceptable.

Security is vaguely to mildly inconvenient, and worth it in my opinion.

For some types of user, software such as Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X does offer additional (never total) peace of mind.

My advice: try it. If you find a problem, feedback to Sophos.

For the first time since the introduction of the iPhone Apple Computer is concentrating on the COMPUTER more than the iPhone. I for one hope they will nail Lion. :)

Well, it does make the Recovery partition, where you can access disk utility. You can use that to do a clean install? I'd like to know more about how it works.

What was hard about previous installations ? Pop CD in, run upgrade. Same process.

Speed. (Of course, you do have to download it first.) ;) But you don't have to wait for the disk to arrive.

They already redid the ENTIRE interface. It looks really awesome. I've used it in the first DP build. It doesn't need to be changed anymore.

As for the separate groups moving through rooms, I don't see how the larger group can enter one room, then proceed into another room without setting off a trap before tail-end charlie follows along to explore the room. Android is given freely, so how does Google make money? The same way they make just about (95%+) ALL their money: from selling information to advertisers. So Android exists to get more people to use Google software, which then allows them to sell more ads and make money.

I understand the benefits of the SI system. I honestly think it's a better system and we should use it. That being said, I don't like change. Heck, many people don't like change. Resolution independence will not stop images from getting bigger. Unless you are dealing with vector art, scaling an image up will decrease quality. Resolution independence will be a function of taking the biggest image that might be used and scaling it down.

Even with vector art, you lose some image quality with scaling. You can't create new detail.
