Please! Make the damn phone bigger! Oh no, it may weigh a few more grams. Currently, the iphone4 is a tiny phone. For us adults, please increase the screen size, and probably, the width.
I don't necessarily want it to be bigger just to be bigger, but I am tired of the now-stale marketing schtick Apple does year after year, "The new iPhone/MacBook/iPad/iPod is now ten percent thinner/lighter, smaller!!!!! And the crowd always goes crazy. It's just getting dumb at this point. Like with the iPad, there is absolutely no need to make the iPad any thinner or lighter; 90% of the people who buy one immediately buy a case which inherently makes it thicker and heavier. Same with the iPhone. I see them around all the time, and I honestly don't remember the last one I saw not in a case that made it bulkier and heavier.
mothers day quotes from son.Too involved for me at this moment. I'll pass; although I have to admit the game sounds pretty interesting. RPG FTW!

How dare Samsung use a black rectangle with rounded corners! * sarcasm*
those sick twisted bastards!
mothers day quotes from kids.Isn't Apple using usb connections for other hardware?
Likely (Bluetooth). But I don't see it accounting for the other 7 ports on the ICH.
On the PSU subject, since Transporteur confirms that there are no vents from the HDDs going into the PSU Area, the only thing that could justify moving the PSU to the bottom area of the case would be.. having the power cable closer to the ground :D lol
If you go back to post 187 (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=12447547&postcount=187) (very bottom), you'll see my take on baffles. ;)
The more recent post was based on the concept the baffle between the PCIe/HDD and PSU/ODD sections had vent slots in it (misinterpretation of a photo).

Did apple ever say it will release golden masteR?
Mother#39;s Day QuotesOk, so I hate to admit it, but I can confirm from my experimental days that OSX 86 reports at least P4 CPUs innaccurately as mentioned above. The system profiler in OSX86 does attempt to describe the chip. My HT P4 2.4 GHz was reported as a 3.something. Don't know if it was the hyperthreading or the HT coupled with the OSX86 hacked version itself was the problem in the reporting.Yeah, OS X seems to report non-standard Intel chips as "Genuine Intel". I wouldn't be surprised if it goes into a debug mode.

The single most thing that I'm excited for is the Leopard Preview... Nevermind that it's the only thing *confirmed*. ;) After that, anything else is just icing on the cake!:D
(Apparently, I'm easy to please!)

Makes sense. Android is really becoming the defacto alternative to iOS.
This is not about iOS vs Android. Both are doing well. It's the others who need to worry like RIM and MS. Where RIM was trying to beat the iPhone 2 years ago, now they have two platforms kicking their butt.
However, it's really not a fair comparison when you compare the iPhone vs Android. One is a phone and the other an OS. Wake me up when one single model of an Android based phone out sells the iPhone, then you can say Apple is in trouble.
I love that argument - who told Apple to only make 1 phone? Nobody it was their decision. This is PC vs Mac all over again - history repeating itself.
I can't wait to see how Steve Jobs spins this somehow at WWDC - my guess is he'll throw iPod Touches and iPads into their numbers so it doesn't look as horrible as the Nielsen chart shows.
At the end of the day, the truth hurts - Android is the new defacto platform for mobile and that means developers, developers, developers.
Next up...tablets :D

happy mothers day quotes,do you think they'd make it work with cingular and the rest, or do think they'd make their own service like helio?
I would bet it will come out as GSM initially, though perhaps they will release a CDMA as well.
mothers day quotes fromI think this rumor can be readily discredited.
Apple has been trying for a few years now to streamline product updates so that they happen like clockwork once per year.
The past few macbook pro updates have been in the spring/late winter, macbooks are seemingly being updated prior to the Back to School deal, iPods are updated in September towards the end of the student sale, iPhones have launched in June every year, iPad and iPad 2 both began selling in the spring, and while iMacs haven't had a clear pattern emerge yet, it appears to be coalescing around 1 year and I think it's safe to say that as time goes on, a yearly cycle will become dominant.
Despite the news of Lion being almost ready (or ready) for Golden Master, I think it's more probable that Lion is put on hold until iOS 5 is ready to launch as happened with Leopard and to a much lesser extent, Snow Leopard. Apple makes far more money and gets far more worldwide press from the iOS family than it does the OS X lineup. At this point, not launching an iPhone and a new OS for it in June would go against 4 years of pattern and practice, and would cause too much negative publicity, especially in the face of a constantly evolving market where a few months of lag time can cost a company vital market share and mindshare.

Limited parts production "silver lining" in that polishing the underlying OS/Software is ALWAYS most welcome.
Mother is a major contributionSI is superior in conversions only
Imperial is superior as I actually have a feel for the numbers
Please tell me that's sarcasm.
I have a "feel" for Imperial measurements, and they are a pain in the ***.
I don't think so, and I'm not being sarcastic.
Temperature is a great example. Celsius and Kelvin are fantastic for science and engineering for obvious reasons, but when it comes to everyday uses, Fahrenheit makes more sense. It's very intuitive to think of numbers on a 100 scale. That's why when you're looking at the weather or taking someone's body temperature, it's easier to get a grasp of what is "high" or "low." Fahrenheit is also more accurate for casual uses because it can express smaller changes more easily than Celsius.
The metric system also lacks easy naming schemes for everyday sizes. Recipes, for example, would have to be written out in ml rather than cups or spoons. In such a situation, base 10 is not helpful at all because recipes are rarely divided or multiplied by 10. The metric system could in fact be worse for such applications because cutting 473 ml in half is more of a pain than cutting 2 cups in half (and yes, while recipes could theoretically be modified to be in flat metric ratios, the fact is that there are far too many recipes in existence already for that to be realistic in the short-medium term).
However, we have been seeing the transition to metric in some subtler ways. Soda, water, and juice have been sold in metric quantities for a while now, and I've even seen more and more bags of chips, boxes of cereal, and some candy bars (mind you not popular ones) come in metric sizes. This is obviously advantageous for manufacturers because it means a streamlined production line. I just don't think we're going to get most people to use the metric system for non-scientific daily tasks because it may not be as superior as it would seem at first blush.

For goodness sakes, the delivery date aside, Apple has already virtually confirmed that an Apple phone is on the way.
Let me rephrase that: I think we're all getting way too ahead of ourselves. The source of this all is some "tech-unsavvy photographer that Apple hires" according to another crappy tech website. I don't know if it's true or not, but we're all just way too ahead of ourselves with free phone calls through AirPort or whatever.
i love u mom - Mother#39;s daySo, how many more times are various sources gonna reiterate that iPhone 5 is to come out in Fall?
As many as it takes to make you come here and read and comment the junk. Because it's all what this site is about.

yes, the second update makes more sense, and makes it likely that the annual iPod event will include the new iPhone as well...

Sep 15, 04:36 PM
2.16 and 2.33 Merom options
Magnetic latch
MacBook style keyboard
New video card (Nvidia?)
160GB hard drive option
IMO, these are the least that Apple can do to keep up with other high performance notebooks in the market. I think new MBP's will arrive one the same day as Photokina although they may not be highlighted at the event.
Please don't mess with the keyboard. The Macbook keyboard wouldn't suit the Macbook Pro.
mothers day quotes for cards.Great news considering you can get 90 percent of the stuff for free online the only feature i would want is find my iPhone when i get the 4th gen iPhone but if i can get my own .me account i would ditch gmail in a second for me
How You Do Dat?
Um, surely you're not that silly.
He was giving a "SteveQuote" similar to the one from WWDC '05 along the lines of "Oh by the way if you look up here you'll see this whole presentation is running on Intel processors."
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.3; en-gb; Blade Build/FRG83) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)
Storing some music locally on my phone and having a 20gb cloud of music and having it all accessable via a single app is brilliant.
A good move and potentially good product from Amazon. Looking forward to a UK release!
Yes please, love things like it :)

Nothing to see here...just the unabashed evilness of Apple shining through. I'm sure Apple will 'flash the wad' to the right people and make this issue go away...sad :( We are nothing more than chattel to Apple Consumer Electronics, where we are tracked and monitored like open range livestock. This is how they view us, as THEIR herd to do with as they please.
Welcome to the future guys.
