Justin+ieber+haircut+2011I wonder which genius at Amazon thought it was a good idea to make their cloud service work in the US only.
If you don't have a US based IP address you are locked out of the system. Can't even sign up and see what it looks like. Also you can't purchase either mp3's or video from Amazon if you originate from a non-US IP address. Even if you have proper payment/billing information in the US.
IMO their informational video is outright lying when they say you can access your files anytime and anywhere.
Apparently in Amazonland anywhere = The US and ONLY the US.
So if you get this setup in the US and travel to a foreign country your amazing, anywhere & anytime "cloud" storage magically goes away.
Looks like Apple will have to step in and show these morons how it's done yet again.
justin bieber haircut 2011I get the feeling they are not really making any money on it, so it would make sense to give it away as a benefit of "using a mac."
I cant remember where it was mentioned, but I recall (dreamed?) that Apple had 1 million paid-up MobileMe members at one stage. If you even multiply that by the lowest amount you can purchase it for, thats what, $69 million a year. Cant be losing that much money.
Maybe an apple giftcard for the difference? Like apple did for the early adopters of iPhone 2G when there was a price drop
At least thatd make me buy a product Ive had my eye on but havent had incentive to take the plunge ;)
The best option is to cover both ends.
I like this idea but not the following one
Free MobileMe as an iAd platform? That sounds about right. Paid MobileMe without the iAds? I think we're getting somewhere now...
Id still pay in this case, but the price better not increase :(

Makes sense if Apple wants 10.7 and iOS5 to be the focus. Also gives a little more life to the VZW iPhone 4 (fewer bitter customers, even if caused by their own impatience). Finally, while the fall is usually iPod update time, let's face it, iPod updates are getting kinda boring. A new iPhone 5 in Sept would def be more buzzworthy. Then Apple gets back to the summer iPhone releases w/ the iPhone (6) LTE.

Where do these survey companies get there data from? I have NEVER been asked any questions about stuff like this. Plus with statistics you can fudge the numbers to represent just about anything.

Some rumors for the Verizon Chocolate (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/cellphones/lg-vx8500-chocolate-to-verizon-confirmed-187461.php) suggest an AUGUST 7TH Release Date. That's the same day as the start of WWDC, when Apple's new products will be announced! Just a coincidence?
The wheel on the front of that phone looks very familiar...
I used to think that it all depended on the service provider, but now my feelings have changed. I would be plenty happy with a 4 GB Nano-like device with improved wireless synchronization for a better address book, email viewer, to-do list, etc. even without the phone capability.

justin bieber new haircut 2011I dont think its going to be though the App Store. The only reason its thought he app store now is the minimise abuse.
Anyway, what happens if you whole hard drive dies?
What if you want to reinstall everything from scratch?
There is just too many what ifs
I think the should use USB flash drives rather then DVDs IF the flash drives are faster then the DVD
The app store is for apps and not for a whole OS
justin bieber new haircut 2011I am hoping for a new case design to keep the heat down!
Lets keep our fingers crossed!
Justin Bieber#39;s New HaircutI would love one and would buy a tablet from apple if they came out with one. I take notes on all sorts of stuff, and its not efficient to scan my scribbles into a computer. I'm not a fast typer and frankly typing is harder on my hands than writing. As far as PDA's go they are not bad but the screens are too small for me and dont seem powerful enough (my experience with a dell axim).
I've been tempted by PC tablets, but they are often underpowered, limited to 14" screens, and fragile. I think if you got rid of these issues they would be a good all in one solution as opposed to the hybrid laptop/handheld that tablets are now which seems to combine the worst of both worlds.
Will apple release this? Only if they can find an angle, to convince consumers to buy it. It does seem like wishful thinking...:(

But it's perfectly acceptable to round 1.67 down too, it's half way between 1.5 and 2. Also depends on the price of a Sidcrome socket set.
I'll believe this 2x battery life bollocks when I see the results from the labs, not some chintzy marketing ploy by Intel. It's not a "chintzy marketing ploy by Intel". It's a scientific test conducted by two Intel Marketing engineers which I always believe because Intel employees are honest people with families and friends who love them. :)

Whats the Paris expo, Never heard of that before, are you sure it exists?
justin bieber new haircut 2011Also, if you hit the EJECT key on the keyboard while you have two optical drives installed, will they both open?
Questions, questions...
On my dual G4, the Eject key opens the top tray, and Option Eject opens the bottom. I suspect it is the same...

I don't think it would appeal to that many people, to have an Apple MP3 player. I mean, the existing ones aren't great sellers.
See the problem here? The reason the iPod took off was because it wasn't like the existing MP3 players.
Take a look at a group of current products:
1. The UMPC. Seems like a good idea, but not successful so far. Why not? Here's Gartner:[quote]
This and your other comments are spot on.
The perfect device will never be found IMHO.
For work I am looking at the likes of the Cingular 8125. A better keyboard than my Treo 650, and 802.11b support. Add to that basic support for MS Office apps.
For travel I see the Sony UMPC being OK. It could replace my Epson P-2000 perhaps for photo storage on trips. The shame is that cell phone companies have not let us to share a common phone number between devices - with out us being required to use call forwarding.
I for one would love the ability to pick the device that makes sense at the time for cell phone use. At work, something like the 8125. When out and about sight seeing and shopping, some like the Razor. When traveling a small tablet PC.

But the Tablet could be a good start point, before shrinking it to an iPod Video/iPhone Video form factor. Or could we have both? Hopefully.
The only thing that would make the T1 renderings a "killer app" for me is a slide out keyboard.

The PSP is the closest I have seen to the right device. Again add a slide out keyboard and I might buy.

It also leaves the MBP. If it is not updated, I will likely be driven into a mad frenzy where I buy some other brand of laptop. Honestly, the things Apple is forcing me to do...
I don't see that happening this week, as much as I want a merom MBP. This Sept. 12th event is geared soley towards ipods, nanos, and especially the movie store. I'm betting nothing will be said or released concerning MBP's or MB's. I hope to god I am proven wrong though. Ultimately, as poppe has suggested on other threads, Photokina on the 26th will be the place where MBP updates will happen, as that is more of a pro event. If they don't happen by then, that's when I will beging looking at yonah MBP's.
Yourfeb, febjustin ieberAnswer is 2. I'm right and you're wrong. So there! ;.) I sleep with a math teacher!!!
justin bieber haircut 2011My thoughts exactly. Our school district (ISD 482) just bought 1,465 iPads for its students, and I can see us getting really mad if Apple were to release a new iPad 6 mos. later.
...the same way Apple will probably release the iphone 5 a few months after the Verizon iphone 4? :)
justin bieber 2011 wallpaperI bet it won't be long until a third party developer creates an app for it. I will consider Apple's offering (if there is one) before deciding to dedicate to this one since I need something like this.

This gives RIM time to rethink their tablet.
lol
is it me, or does the RIM look pretty lame in comparison to other tablets
well tomorrow could actually be the day BLT ships of tomtom car kits:) It seems that a lot of people have canceled, because there back ordered number went down. Hopefully they will overnight it...lol ;)
That reads quite a bit different from Amazon's "... or as we determine is necessary to provide the Service ..."
Yes amazons is more transparent and to the point. Apples is more vague. Ill take transparent over vague "in my interpretation" any day.
Huh. This is really cool, but I'm not familiar with the brand...don't know if it's good, or even legitimate for that matter.
Still, it's cool to see someone finally offer it free. Windows has had multiple choices for a few years, so this is good news for OS X fans!
I love retinal operating systems. It's so freakin' futuristic.
How do you define a REAL tablet?
A thing the size of a notebook, with an open screen for handwriting...not just like a PDA or vPod.
