No, they come out with new phones every WEEK, and you actually mean "cheaper and ********". This is not coming from a fanboy, I own and use daily an android device.
I would very highly doubt if they actually delayed the release. Techcrunch doesn't have an amazing track record, if I remember right.
True, they got tons of them comming out.
They might be cheaper but some of them do have better hardware specs but when it comes to the OS and the way it runs everything they sure are crappy and cant compete with the iOS.
I'm going to laugh at all those who say iOS 5 wont be delayed when it actually will be
I give it by July there will be a new ios out and a new iphone.
Just my guess judging by the last 4 years but we will see how it goes.
Nobody really knows.

How hard would it be for wifi/app store to be baked into every Mac going forward? That is, if you wipe the machine, turn it on, and the first thing it does (after the logo) is detect Wifi, connect and offer the app store along with basic disc utilities right on the memory chip?
Mind you, it wouldn't help existing macs... hrm.
six flags magic mountain mapAnd let's not forget one thing: Apple moved from 680x0 to PPC and PPC to Intel because each time, the new CPU series offered a major improvement from the previous one. Today, Intel is the biggest innovator across the board in high-end CPUs - for desktop, server and laptops. There is no one on the horizon who can meet or beat Intel.

What justifies European & European colonial sense of entitlement in forums like these?
I can buy an iPhone without contract and I don't live in Europe.
This is a world phone.

So I guess that Gold Master rumor was wrong.
Not at all. I doubt Apple has ever released the newest build of any OS X version to the public. Just because this beta build may not look like they are nearing GM doesn't mean they don't have something close in-house.

i'm still baffled why nobody's answered my question. anyone with a g5 powermac upgrade to an off the shelf video card yet?
i wonder about video card compatibility because i don't see a single driver on nvidia or ati for mac. and the specifications for the 1900 xfx and nvidia 7950 both don't even list mac compatibility. this is really making me think twice about buying from apple.
anyone please help??

I sure hope we will see Aperture 2.0 and not just 1.2...
Why? Just because it is 1.2 would be a decimal point update doesn't mean it would not be significant. 1 > 1.1 was very good. 1.1 > 1.2 could be just as good and free for all of us that are early adopters of the software.

They are not setting up for the Paris expo for a long time. There is no chance of this being for Paris, IMO. :)
I don't think so either.
When I first glanced at it I thought it was being "made." Like they were hanging it up to be sure it was corrct. I now see that it is indeed being displayed.
six flags magic mountain mapWith apologies to anyone here who bought them I feel like the dock and app are for those with more money then common sense.

I am happy for this, this means when my upgrade happens, iPhone 6 will be a HUGE one :-)
The only problem is now your upgrade will be more than the 2 year mark if they decide to bump the iPhone refresh cycle to the fall.

six flags magic mountain mapWhy can't Apple sell me a desktop with 2GB RAM stock and a 250GB HD for less than two grand?
They can. It is called an iMac, and the 17 incher with 2 GB of RAM and a 25o GB HDD goes for $1674.00
six flags magic mountain mapAnd next week there will be a new survey that says the opposite. These reports are getting old. Must be a slow news day.
six flags magic mountain mapYour assumption is that the multiplication of 2*(12) takes precedence over the 48/2. This is incorrect for the many reasons stated in the thread.
It can't without the extra parentheses.
B
Didn't all your methods, whatever they are called, give a priority to do the parenthesis operation first?
It is not my assumption, it is the method/explanation given by others.
My initial answer is and will always be 2.
My Mac can't be wrong.
Mac OS X can't be wrong.
Not here.
A Mac in MacRumors can't fail.

Three words: Back to School.
One word: September.
MacBooks are not getting a big bump at WWDC. If anything, the website will post speed upgrades, but other than that, no.
iPods? Just no. They will come out in September, or else the September 17th due date for a free Nano would be dumb.

Hrm.. When I hear "Mac Pro", I think of a giant behemoth of a computer, with super internals for crazy processing power for graphics design or whatever your poison may be.. Just to be clear, I'm well aware that there are cheaper ways of building a crazy computer that would put a Mac Pro to shame, but I'm just focusing on the Mac Pro here.. When I think of something rack-mountable, I think of servers, which leads me to think of the XServe and not a smaller Mac Pro (though, having the said giant powerhouse Mac Pro act as a server would be pretty cool, but I don't know how servers work so I may be wrong).. I'm no professional at anything, just a plain college student with a basic consumer outlook on things..

BS. The only lesson to be learned here is that teachers devise lame pneumonic devices to confuse kids. If you're so damn smart, why wouldn't you properly write the correct equation with proper groupings in the first place?
Look at the poll, the groups divided about 50/50. Great job you and your teaching pals did. So much for "perfectly noted." This example is a classic glass half full/empty exercise.
Tastes great. (who's with me):p
I explained why it might be written the way it is, you choose to ignore that like you ignored all the other facts here. The group is divided because some people just don't learn, we have posted exactly why pemdas gives the correct answer when used properly but stubborn people here still say things like well... It's half full/half empty. No, it's not. It's black and white and if you can't see that by now, you never will. Some people just can never admit to mistakes and will never learn anything. Don't blame the teachers...
six flags magic mountain mapIts simple.
We get:
MBP updates and maybe MB updates
10.4.8
Movie Store
6G iPod (not touchscreen) & Nano updates
One More Thing....Media streaming device (Cube re-incarnation) or headless tower (unlikely)
Thats it.
Too early i think for 10.4.8, replace it with iTunes 7 and i think your set ;)
Still not sure they will distract from the movie stuff with MBP, MB or other hardware updates except the streaming video stuff (as it ties into movies)
I'm not sure why there are so many jerks on this forum with such a negative attitude with respect to MobileMe. It is an excellent E-Mail system that Apple obviously devotes time to keeping spam free. That in and of itsself is worth a little bit. Combined with the other features it is a reasonable value.
Let's face it everything else that is free is so only in name. The reality is instead of you advertisers are paying for it. Frankly that sucks because they then dictate what the system is capable of because the service is there to serve their needs not yours.
Besides this report has to be read carefully. If you do so you will see that syncing services are to be offered for free. That doesn't imply all of MobileMe. If it is actually a focused freeing up of syncing services I could see Apple making the offer. After all it would work very well with all the 3G devices coming on line.

Hard for me, even as an Apple fan, to weep too much for a company that chooses to do business overseas isntead of here in America, employing Americans.
Hopefully the situation in Japan improves -- for reasons beyond this.
Oh do shut up. America doesn't have the technology. Furthermore, I am sure prices of your beloved Apple products would increase almost tenfold if Apple didn't have to pay Chinese peasants to make your shiny toys.

The next phases of Sopho's agenda:
1) create more "viruses" and get as much media hype as possible. This will ensure a larger demand of their free product.
2) once a significant number of users are registered and using their free product, force them to update their application--for new virus protection. this new update will lock them into a 30-day trial mode :) users will have to pay $60 per year in order to stay protected.
I'm not worried at all honestly. I'm just even happier to be running a unix-based operating system :)

I dont dont like the size and feel of the keys compared to my m8s MBP 15" and my normal apple keyboard with my iMac which both feel great so im hoping they dont change that, im not dissing the MB but i just prefer the pro's feel at the moment and dont want that to change (espesially the lighted keys :D). yeah im gna go for the gloss i think.
I agree the pro has a nice feel to it. I am really torn with the idea of selling my MacBook and getting a glossy base Pro but it would be a step down in some regards. I put a 100gb 7200 HD in this MacBook as well as 2gb ram. Base Pro has an 80GB 5400. I like the glossy and saw a Pro with it and really loved it. Just can't make up my mind so I sit tight. Of couse there are the rumors of processor upgrades next month too
