How so? Everything he said fits the facts as we know them. There is NO evidence that this information gets transmitted to ANYONE, and believe me people are looking hard to prove otherwise. So this makes Steve look like he's telling the truth.
Even if it did go to the "Mother ship" what the heck would they do with 80 million plus iPhone tracking information????
I could see it now... "Steve, we have this week phone tracking data. Looks like most people are going somewhere this week and it would appear that Starbuck's visits are up 2%" said the minion to Mr. Jobs.
As Steve wrings his hands with a evil smile on his face he responds "Excellent, Smithers, now go get me a grande double chi latte. And don't forget to take your iPhone". And he snickers with a evil laugh.

I'm really neutral toward all this, but I really just have one very valid question.......... Why, WHY does EVERYTHING Amazon does have to be sooooooooooooo DISGUSTINGLY HIDEOUS!!!???
I challenge anyone in here to show me a website uglier than amazon.com! Seriously!!!
Justin Bieber Snapped KissingHiDPI?
DPI = Dots per inch
PPI = Pixels per inch.
DPI is an acronym that mainly applies to the printing industry. No, your brand-shiny new ACD (seems more like BC-ACD) does not display dots. Pixels are, in fact, squares (rectangles, if you really wanna nitpick).
HiPPI is what it should be.
Is this going be another typeface/font mass misunderstanding turned commonplace?
THERE ARE NO DOTS ON YOUR SCREEN! ONLY PIXELS!
Freakin' idiots. What would your mothers say?

As I have always known it, the standard configuration gives you a 14 day return policy, full refund, or 15% restocking fee if it is opened. A BTO machine is considered an "Opened" machine by apple, since they take the standard configuration and change it. So if you buy a BTO machine, you can return it, but you will be subject to the 15% restocking fee. Just take it back to an apple store, show your receipt, and it should be fine.
From the Sales and Refunds Policy page:
"Configure-to-order, personalized or other customized product may not be returned for refund or exchange under any circumstances unless DOA."
Other products:
"A 10% open box fee will be assessed on any opened hardware or accessory."

Justin+ieber+kissing+i hope apple comes out with a shoe phone, something the pink panther or inspector gadget would use.
Very retro.. ;)
To justinjasmine villegasHey guys I just called BLT and they said that they do not have an updated ETA on when they will be receiving a shipment. It almost makes me want to just go to the apple store and pick one up, it is just so hard to give up on 30% off... sigh.
Are you sure your Apple store has them in stock? I checked one here in LA while I happen to be there and they were out of them, too! On the online Apple store, it still says 7-10 days for delivery so maybe we should all hang in there.

I highly doubt this is the case. The iPhone still leads the forefront for iOS devices and will receive iOS 5 when it is released. The only way this works is if the release of iPhone 5 is in September and I don't see that happening any time soon.
I think iOS 5 will be released after the iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5 are released with the A5 processor.
I also think iOS 5 and Mac OS X "Lion" will be tightly integrated, but not dependent on each other, so your Mac experience can be taken to the next level.
Ugly jasmine v are jasmineI would be shocked... but you never know. Maybe they will offer it for free if you purchase a Mac.
That's the way it used to be with the old .mac, it was a selling point. You get a mac and you got email, a .mac web address, 'n such. Then they'd charge for extra space 'n such.
justin bieber jasmine kissingFor once, I'd like to see a pie chart that includes iPod Touch and iPad, which also run iOS. What's the Android device equivalent of the iPod touch?
We won't see that pie chart as it would make Android look pretty bad. Oh wait, we saw it yesterday. If you compare Android to iOS then iOS has 59% of the market.
justin bieber and hisWhich is why, of course, US News reports that 6 out of the top 10 universities for engineering and IT are not in the US? Once upon a time the US owned that list.
Fine, but prove to me it's because of the metric system.

This is great and bad at the same time for me. I'm so happy that they'll finally move to Merom. However, I've been holding off an MBP since mid-April. I was really hoping to get one after WWDC. If it's true that they may launch it in September, I may not be able to get it in time for school, and the ipod rebate may be over.
No kidding. I've been waiting for the merom mbp since they came out in Feb. Check out my signature. that computer is virtually dead. yeah thats another thing. If they dont update the MBP at WWDC, they may not be available until after the ipod student rebate deal is over. That would SUCK.
jasmine villegasOkay, I've heard here a lot, that people want simple integration/syncronization with iTunes, iPhoto, iCal, & Address Book. These are all, (minus iTunes) 100% Mac-Centric. PC users would only get integration/syncronization with iTunes. What good is that to them? At that point you only have iPod + Phone.
So Apple has a choice: Mac-Centric or not.
Knowing Apple, their first choice is "not" (which doesn't mean it will start out that way, but we'll just have to wait to find out). Apple would then have to either write iCal et al. for Windows or build in support for Outlook, ...uh... photo viewer... whatever PCs use for photos.
Both are daunting tasks.
Conclusion: In order for Apple to make a phone as good and as universal as the iPod, it will have to accomplish one of the aforementioned daunting tasks.
Making a phone for Mac users would be a walk in the park, because 1) it's such a small microcosm, 2) It's an environment that they are familiar with.
Making a phone for everyone will not be as easy. HOWEVER, Apple is great at building OSes (the iPod OS is simple & intuitive and I have no doubt that they will do the same with a phone) and Apple is great at integration with software, so even though there will be hurdles to overcome, Apple will eventually churn out a phone that is simple and is loved by everyone.
I also think there won't be a single serious Mac-User who won't have one. It'll just be too handy to have a device that will sync easily with the awesome Mac software.
-Clive
There's no reason why they will choose to exclude syncing with mac applications. iTunes for everyone, and extras for mac users. And really they would only have to write something that would deal with Outlook to cover most Windows users to keep everyone happy.

How one big multinational company arguing with another affects your phone, I don't quite understand. Oh, wait...you're saying you WANT to make your homescreen a Toyota ad?
I tell you what, all you "I demand my freedom" folks confuse me more and more. The right to let Toyota advertise to you was never a big arguing point in the past for the radicals I used to read about.
I just don''t like to see Apple flex their power to do things they cannot legally force under the DMCA (per The Library of Congress).

Actually that's an ignorant and factually incorrect statement.
iPhone users are more satisfied with their devices than other smart phone owners AND they sell more iPhones everyday.
Hence the population is statistically growing.
I think he means that more and more people are jailbreaking their phones. However, I doubt the percentage of JB phones is expanding at the rate iOS is.

Wrong.
Ok then you do not know how to follow the order of operations....ie if you want 2, you have to have another set of parenthesis (so you evaluate 2(9+3) before dividing into 48) or mistakenly think that multiplication somehow supersedes the use of division (which it does not and you then proceed from left to right)

These jokes just aren't funny.
It's too early for this. Maybe it will never not be too early for this, but please have some sensitivity for people who have friends/family/are themselves in affected areas.
Do you have any evidence for this?
Here is a good overviewnfor the extremely inefficient Japanese agricultural industry:
http://www.japan-101.com/government/rice_trade_policy.htm
There are strong parallels between this and other Japanese markets.
Unlike Americans, the Japanese would rather build everything in Japan and pay a higher cost for it (= inefficiency). (I live in Japan and am fluent in Japanese)
Jasmine Villegas And JustinThe apple phone should be similar to the Sony P900 series, in that they are unlocked and work with any GSM phone. I don't think any store, Cingular, T-Mobile, etc. do not sell through the stores. You have to buy from Sony or elsewhere.
I had a P900 phone before the Treo 650 and it worked fine with Cingular.
Bring on a phone that can sync with ease and feel of Apple OS, so I don't have to rely on Palm, not that is that bad.
Apple for life!:D
Sure you will.
No need for the rolling eyes there… Some of us already have.
Apple is not the end all be all. Sometimes change is good. ;)
Bad move to keep the iPhone out for 2 years.
I agree.
There is no way Apple can take a break from this cycle.
What is that saying about he who rides the tiger?
Also, if you hit the EJECT key on the keyboard while you have two optical drives installed, will they both open?
Questions, questions...
On my dual G4, the Eject key opens the top tray, and Option Eject opens the bottom. I suspect it is the same...
BTO 17" is 7-10 days at US Applestore now, 15" is 1-3 days.
I almost want to order now just be early in the line, but it's quite a risk to take still. :)

Now the media will latch onto this claiming Jobs is lying. The media are the best, so informative and truthful.
