You are correct! We will be releasing our car kit sometime in December. It works with any iPhone GPS app, so you are not limited to just use ours! =)

It exists. There's no reason for it to exist. You can't disable it. And there are HUGE privacy implications should the file be accessed without your permission - by thieves, stalkers (or worse), advertisers, police, etc. - none of whom can access your cell company's location records, except authorities, and even then only by subpoena. Which means a judge has to agree that there's a good reason for them to need it.
Why is the file even there in the first place?
Ok, granted, it exists; what makes you think there's no reason for it to exist? Are you an Apple engineer? Obviously not. Should you disable it? I don't think so. Yes, there are privacy implications, but if the data is not collected by Apple and is inaccessible to anyone without physical access to the phone, then the majority of those implications are pure conjecture without any evidence to support it.
On the other hand, by the phone having a database of cell towers and wifi hotspots, transfer of signal can be made much more efficiently by on-board software and automatic connection to known Wi-Fi locations is automatic, not forcing you to manually locate and connect every time. Among other things, this saves on battery power by eliminating the searching a phone has to do each time it loses signal as you move around. If you've done any long-distance travelling, I'm sure you can remember how your cell phone drank its battery in hours while you drove down the highway, yet after the first one or two trips along a given route, the iPhone seems to increase battery life when repeating that route. Logically speaking, the file really does improve the user experience.
mothers day poems for kids2. What applications do you need that a Mac Mini Core Duo can't handle? Oh, games? Why in the sweet baby Jesus' name are you on MACrumors if you're a gamer? Apple cedes your kind to Dellienware. Go. Shoo. Leave the grownups alone.
Here's other point of view: I want to use OSX in everyday use (Safari, Mail, iTunes, graphic design, Dreamweaver etc... and OSX overall). But sometimes I want to play games too, and it's awesome that nowadays it's possible to boot into Windows and play games there and then boot back into OSX. Are you saying that Apple should totally forget all users who would like to use OSX but occasionally play games on Windows, and let them buy PCs? Most of the gamers do not use their computer ONLY to play games. Consumer tower would be good for Apple to get new switchers and get more marketshare.
mothers day poems for childrenWow, what a great job to completely and unfairly judge people.
I consider myself OCD level organized. One of the reasons why I am so organized (more so than ever now) is because much of my media and software have transitioned to digital.
You have a very negative spin on Apple's approach. Instead of "dumbing down", I'll call it "simplifying", and I absolutely welcome the change.
I to have OCD, but I also realize that's its not hard providing an option for people to burn a copy of their digital download to a cd or disk. So far, as we know, they wont be allowing that.
It doesn't make things harder, complicated or confusing providing such an option.

By the way, mscriv's explanation of the turns/points system is spot-on.

"Should we bring the body?" cried Jorah standing next to Wilmer's lifeless body.
"We can't afford the burden. This is a dangerous place, a body will only slow us down and even endanger us," said Rosius as he strode towards the unopened door. "Shall we continue?"
"Jorah, come on. Let's go," said Loras as the remaining members of the group followed Rosius through the door. Throwing a final glance at Wilmer's body, Jorah followed.
YOU WENT THROUGH THE DOOR.

mothers day 2011 poems. motherI would hazard a guess that the thinner facade suggests a lack of optical media drives, or if it does have one, a vertical slot-loader. But I think what with flash drive or Internet distribution, optical media drives aren't really needed any more, even on a Pro machine.
My 2 cents!
mother#39;s day poemTime to rename a Quarter Pounder into a "Royale with cheese"! :D
They do actually call them Quarter Pounder's in Australia. And they insist on calling the chips 'fries' too!
Come to think of it… isn't it a bit odd that Americans attribute 'fries' to the French, but refuse to adopt their metric system? Go figure.
short happy mothers day poems. So, what is Apple doing with a bunch of 7" touch screens, since Jobs said "7 inch tablets are dead on arrival"?
I also don't recall RIM ever giving a date before April 19th.
This is about production capacity rather than specific sizes of screen.

OMG... Sources close to it says, Iphone5 coming. Faster processor.
Really? Wait. I'll close my eyes and wave my hand and say it'll have a nice screen with it. Might be bigger. But not decided yet. Oh... And it'll look nice! And not too different so to scare away people who likes things the same.... *sigh*
Seriously, I hope they release it soon. It'll need to have at least 64GB of space so I can finally get rid of my ipod.
Make it LARGER. Just a little. Give it a 4in screen. Oh and look... Now you have room for that larger battery and bigger CPU and camera.
I BET you if Apple released two TOP END models.
1) Same form factor. But with new CPU only. and 32gb memory to keep the same form factor.
and
2) Another with the same CPU but with 4in screen, larger battery, better camera, and 64gb memory. Of course a bit heavier.
I bet #2 would sell 3:1... Those who is willing to pay that high price of the 32GB model would be the same group of people willing to get the extras. If not for the screen size, then for the battery or better camera. Would I pay $150 more? Yes.
Here's the kicker. That would make it $450. That's slightly less than an unlocked Android that has most of those features NOW. Not 5 MONTHS from now. Granted, it's no iOS system. But it works.
Not that "I like things the same", but I do like the size of the iPhone. I have no desire to have a larger iPhone or any smart phone.
Also, I have to agree with the other poster, Apples not going to mess with the screen size if it requires developers to rewrite Apps to be compatible. It's just not worth it.
If you only buy products based on who has the most check marks on their feature list or hardware spec, don't buy an iPhone, and don't buy a Mac. That's not what Apple is all about. Besides... the iPhone4 has an amazing screen now. So much better than others. The way I look at it is, "screen solved" move on to other features that are more important. More RAM, more storage options, continued better battery (although the current battery life is great for me and I use my phone all day long), and things such as this.
You know, within a couple years all the smart phones will all have about the same hardware specs... only so much you can put in there, or even need to put in there. So what will differentiate them them? How well they work, the depth of the content and how well they're supported. Features often overlooked on the spec sheet.
Mother#39;s Day Quotes 2010:Good, so let LG sue Apple. Just one problem: the iPhone doesn't actually look like the Prada. At all.
SInce you obviously don't want to leave macrumors screen to see the image of LG Prada, please look at post #242. Pic is embedded.
funny mothers day poems fromExactly. You did set the context but you did fall out your words when you said that MAS download would be a better thing to exploit which in any case, not true.
Just like 'small white car' corrected you, there's nothing worse than an unrestricted Mac OS Install Disk. Simple.
I was referring to the terms of the licence, not any technical restrictions, so nobody corrected me.
Mac OS X Install DVD - one licence, one machine
Mac App Store - one licence, unlimited machines
I do not believe that Apple intends for people to install their Apps on any machine they encounter, but merely those that they own and use on a regular basis - hence the "abuse" comment.

who cares, it's just an ipod. Those pieces of junk should be canned by Apple anyways.
Mother#39;s Day Poems by Daughters. Apr 17, 2009 1:39 PM. www.squidoo.com Collections of mothers and daughters celebrating Mother#39;s Day.So you want Apple to be forced by the government to reduce its manufacturing, tell its customers "sorry, no iPad for you" because the competition needs to catch up? How stupid is that?
If Apple was found to be abusing its position... yes. But this is NOT my point... 'countries start to investigate Apple due to a shortage of components due to Apple buying up the available stock'.
And just how could Apple be found to be absuing its position by buying what it needs to supply its customers whith product? Maybe if the iPad wasn't selling all that well but Apple can't keep up with demand as it is. Arguments like yours don't even make sense and I'll bet you some serious money that no one can produce a single instance of a company "found to be abusing its position" by buying what its needs to produce and sell its products. It would appear people like you are just angry that Apple is successful and want to take it down somehow. Stupid, just stupid.

Yea the 4x512 does suck, there wasnt even an option to put 2x1 gigers.
Weird!
But I figure that I will get a 4 giger kit, slap that in and revel in my 6 gigs.
A personal best.
oh , how sad my life has become when the acquisition of ram beyond the past has replaced my once formidable tales of conquest and achievement.
I make myself sick,:D but why am i smiling?
Cause its 6 gigs man, that should scream!:p

I've been sitting on a **** windows mobile phone for about 2 years & decided to upgrade about 3 months ago & decided to wait for iphone5.
I buy macbooks & I'm not a mid / late cycle buyer & don't mind waiting for something good.
However Apple lost my custom today. All these stories about putting the release date back and rumors about a 'small' update.....
I ain't hanging around to find out. Just ordered a Galaxy S II
Android here i come.
nice choice, its awesome.
I guess the guy who told you that story can kiss his career (with apple) goodbye ;) There's not that many photographers who take pictures of upcoming Apple products ...
Anyway, I can't wait to see the phone...

Personally, I think it is a good thing for Apple to disrupt this "schedule" that we have all come to think of as a yearly update. There are no rules here, I would rather let Apple do what they think is best as far as a release schedule. If it isn't ready yet, I don't see what the point of rushing to market is.
